8th – The Beeches

8th Hole

The 461-yard eighth is the first of three consecutive holes all of over 400 yards providing a hard test.

It is an excellent par 4 with the run of the ground in favour of the player off the drive.

Care must be taken to steer clear of a large beech tree on the left, and half way down the fairway.

A diagonal ridge cutting across the fairway short of the green has to be carried by the long second shot to the wide open green, one of the best on the course.
