5th Hole

On higher ground, in the more central part of the course, from the fifth tee a general view of the remainder of the course may be had.

The long fifth hole of 483 yards may be the toughest hole on the course as after a drive to lower ground, the player is faced with a long second shot which should reach the front of the approaches to the green set on a shelf on an uphill slope, with grassy banks either side, and steep bank at the back.

Only the long hitters can expect to get home in two, and even the pitch shot requires careful judgement if the par 5 is to be accomplished.
